[ quoted text not captured ] Mata can play Guruhi are the Land, but I believe she gets no benefit from it, since she isn't a Guruhi. Note each clause says "This Guruhi gets..." The Guruhi Are the Land [LoB:C/PG4] Cardtype: Action Modifier Clan: Guruhi Only usable during a bleed, hunt, or equip action. If this is a bleed action, this Guruhi gets +1 bleed, and you may not play another action modifier to further increase the bleed for this action. If this is a hunt action, this Guruhi gains an additional blood if successful. If this is an equip action, this Guruhi untaps if the action is successful. I believe that she does, as this is an instantaneous effect. The effect doesn't hang around longer than the playing of the card, so she is treated as a Guruhi for this card whilst it is being played. LSJ, is this correct? --> J

Since she's playing it as though she were a member of that clan, she would be considered a guruhi for the duration of the action, if I'm not mistaken. That said, I am not you know who... Ability: Red List: Mata Hari has 2 votes (titled). You and she may play cards that require a sect and/or clan as if she were of that required sect and/or clan. [ quoted text not captured ] I believe she can only be one clan at a time... so actions that require a clan that's not a Guruhi she can't do. I don't think. So she can't guruhi of the land when she equips the Ankara Citadel or the living manse Plus didn't anybody notice he has like 4 locquipment in the deck? Once he plays one, the other are pointless... And the other vampires can only get the palatial estate, and sacre cour. D'habi Revenant doesn't give Mata plus bleed at all... One skill card with 2 Notorious Brutality , owl companion, and milan is for... You have less then 50% chance of seeing it in a game I believe... Even smaller chance of seeing it in the first 20 cards. Honestly, I think he'll clump up on action modifiers and master cards... You should stream line it, so you can go through alot of cards in 1 turn... Give it less of a chance to clump up by having less master cards (6~7) and unique allies... 1 war ghoul, 1 High Top, 1 Amam the Devourer?

There's no restriction on having multiple loquipments. Mata can have all the locations without penalty. > D'habi Revenant doesn't give Mata plus bleed at all... Correct. > One skill card with 2 Notorious Brutality , owl companion, and milan > is for... You have less then 50% chance of seeing it in a game I > believe... Even smaller chance of seeing it in the first 20 cards. Mylan, not milan... ;-) However, it seems to work ok in the couple games I've played it so far. Mylan has also been great for helping out cross table allies and for bleeding for 1, and in case of emergency burning for a War Ghoul. > Honestly, I think he'll clump up on action modifiers and master > cards... Well that's how it's played out in practice so far, but it hasn't clumped too badly. I'm thinking a Helicopter might be useful. Aman almost did make it in, and if I owned a Carlton he'd be in there for sure. [ quoted text not captured ]

I know that, well, anyone can get him anyway so he doesn't need Mata's special, but his abilities are cool. Cooler than Amam, I think. and for the same price (especially if you play in an environment where getting off some +1 stealth actions doesn't require too much effort). -- salem (replace 'hotmail' with 'yahoo' to email)

That said, I am not you know who... close. The "The Guruhi Are The Land" (TGATL)card, and only that card, considers her a Guruhi for the duration of the action. Nothing else in the game will consider her Guruhi during that action. ONLY the TGATL card she has played. Which is why she can do it on an action to equip with the Ankara Citadel. The Ankara Citadel card considers her to be a Tremere. But that is th eonly card that considers here a Tremere. She can then play TGATL, and the TGATL will see her as Guruhi. But the Ankara is still seeing her as Tremere. And every other vampire, library card and effect in the game will consider her Ravnos. > Ability: Red List: Mata Hari has 2 votes (titled). They are warghoul fodder with an option to burn if the hand is clumping with stuff. It's actually worked out well that way. I've burned them on more than one occassion. Mata doesn't have animalism to start with, hence the single ani skill card. I thought about other retainers like Tasha Morgan etc, but that burn option just gives it a bit more flexibility that is pretty useful. [ quoted text not captured ]

[ quoted text not captured ] +1 bleed is an instantaneous effect. The hunt bonus and equip bonus are instantaneous if played when the action is successful.

For example: http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/571e93365e932a10 Be careful when reading that thread, as LSJ rules the opposite in a number of posts until Josh points out the problem. With Guruhi are the Land, if you play the card early in the action and the effect lingers around, it doesn't appear to work. However, I'm not sure if there's any difference if you play it at the end of a successful equip action and so would untap straight away - or whether it's a lingering effect in much the same way as Closed Session, and it just happens to linger for a fraction of a second. -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D YOU ARE IN ERROR. [ quoted text not captured ] Haha! My record stands. If I make a ruling on this NG, assume whatever I say is the exact opposite of correct... Thanks LSJ. [ quoted text not captured ]

[ quoted text not captured ] 2 Sudario Refractions+Ankara+Freak is hawt with Sibyl's Tongue. Get what you need with Sibyl's, Freak for free, fetch Freak, Sibyl's and Sudario Refraction from your ash heap and do whatever you feel like doing. Or skip the Sibyl's and get a Living Manse or something. Beats Sargon Fragment because it has inherent stealth, doesn't cost blood if you have Ankara, you keep cycling the same freak so it doesn't even cost an action and you get to cycle three cards every time you do it.

Resplendent Protector Type: Retainer Requires: Toreador Mortal with 1 life. The minion with this retainer may prevent 1 damage each combat. Ghoul Escort Type: Retainer Ghoul with 4 life. Requires a ready vampire. When this vampire is blocked, he or she may burn this retainer and untap instead of entering combat. (This does not untap the blocker.) Just throwing some options out there....I know they lack the burn option, but I really can't see it being that much of a bonus compared to the fact that the card does NOTHING at all until turned into a War Ghoul. I was trying to distinguish between cards that stayed in play and cards that just got played and went straight to the ash heap, but didn't haul my window of effect closed enough. My bad, an apologies for any confusion I've caused. > With Guruhi are the Land, if you play the card early in the action and > the effect lingers around, it doesn't appear to work. Enter ramble mode: I would have thought TGATL + bleed would follow the same sort of thing as, say, superior Foreshadowing Destruction, where you only get +3 bleed as long as the person you are bleeding has less than 10 pool. so you play it on your action, and if they gain some pool and get over 10, then it is no longer 'active' unless they spend back down below 10 pool during that action. would have thought TGATL give the guruhi +1 bleed. but only as long as they are guruhi, so after resolving the effect on Mata, she stops being guruhi for that action, and thus loses the conditional +1 bleed. Unless cards that say "this X gains Y while Z" stop checking for X as soon as it's resolved, but keep checking for the Z the whole way through. Which would cover TGATL (there is no Z to check) and Foreshadowing (there is no X to check). [ quoted text not captured ]

Sure, want to give/trade me some more resplendant protectors? :P the burn option has been very handy, surprisingly so with only 2 cards out of 90. But more resplendants would probably be useful as well. :P [ quoted text not captured ]
