Malkavian Dementia

Came across a new situation that requires clarification. Player 1 has Ozmo out with Pulse of Canaille on him. Player 2 plays Malkavian Dementia and steals Ozmo. Player 3 takes out Player 1. The question that comes out of this: Does Player 2 get to keep Ozmo upon his Untap or does he give it back to Player 1, who is now out. We debated the question and decided that Ozmo would be lost at the Untap phase as per the card, regardless of the fact that there was no player to whom Ozmo would be returned.
