This goes along with part of a deck idea I had, and I want to clarify: I play Temptation on my Prey's vampire, and some turns later take control of him. With that vampire, I play Baltimore Purge. At the end of my turn, I give that vampire back to my prey. During my untap phase, the Purge goes off. Which of these is true?: - None of the vampires I currently control go to torpor when the card burns. - The vampire who performed the action, who now belongs to my prey, goes to torpor when the card burns. - My prey must also choose a vampire to go to torpor. - The vampire chosen by my prey may be the same vampire who is already going to torpor for having performed the action, since he is "a ready vampire he or she controls who is not older than [himself]." - If I control a Lasombra when the card burns, I may choose which vampires go to torpor, and I may choose a second vampire controlled by my prey, in addition to the acting vampire.

By default, minion cards are controlled by the controller of the minion they're on, and Purge has no text changing that. If you put a Purge on a minion that someone else is going to get control of, they're going to control the Purge too. > - None of the vampires I currently control go to torpor when the > card burns. Not (necessarily) true. (Will be true if you control no vampires same age or younger than the Purging vamp.) > - The vampire who performed the action, who now belongs to my prey, > goes to torpor when the card burns. True. > - My prey must also choose a vampire to go to torpor. Nope. > - The vampire chosen by my prey may be the same vampire who is already > going to torpor for having performed the action, since he is "a ready > vampire he or she controls who is not older than [himself]." This won't happen since the above doesn't happen. But if you did change control of a Purge to someone other than the controller of the vamp it's on (eg with Succubus Club), then the Purge would go off during the controller-of-Purge's untap phase, sending the vamp it's on to torpor, plus a vamp of each other-than-the-Purge- controlling Meth's choice not older than the Purge-bearer. In that case (for an attempt at clarity, Vamp A controlled by Meth A, Purge controlled by Meth B, Meths C-E unrelated), Meth A could choose Vamp A as the one to send to torpor, since the choice happens before the sending-to-torpor, and Meth B would not send any vamps to torpor. > - If I control a Lasombra when the card burns, I may choose which vampires > go to torpor, and I may choose a second vampire controlled by my prey, in > addition to the acting vampire. Only if you control the Baltimore Purge, which you won't if you've given back control of the vamp it's on. All of this is subject to being overruled or errataed by LSJ, but I'm pretty sure I'm interpreting the card correctly as written. :-) Josh baltimore binge and purge?

Thats funny.. i had the exact same idea, but reading the card more closely now i realise something. Im afraid the "you" and "your" refers to the owner of the card and not the temporary controller, and since the vampires going to torpor arent chosen before the vampire playing baltimore goes to torpor im pretty sure your predator (or whoever you stole the vampire from) gets to chose which vampires go to torpor (which will probably include yours.. heh ) [ quoted text not captured ]

Yes, since choosing the vampire happens before the going to torpor part... (Unless he's already in torpor...) > > - If I control a Lasombra when the card burns, I may choose which vampires > go to torpor, and I may choose a second vampire controlled by my prey, in > addition to the acting vampire. Yes... It's your untap... Not the minions untap...

Hmm, reading the other post... I'm gonna take back what I said... Minion cards are controlled by the vampire, not the Methuselahs... So listen to them, Me stupid... me no dink oh-kay... Funny, I just built a version of this deck last week. I've played it twice now. I got one VP last Friday in a 6 player game with a HOS deck that really screwed things up for me by discarding many of my Temptations for me. Last night I swept a 4 player table with it but had a difficult time against my !Nosferatu rush prey. I guess it could use some more Obedience. The basic premise of my deck is to use Nefertiti (10) and Khay-tall (9) to either Tempt or Mind Rape (both have DOM) a mid to high cap vamp (8 or under of course) and use them to Purge Baltimore. The design lends itself to choosing my predator's vamps if possible because then I have a pretty good selection for Graverobbing/Sacrificial Lamb. It has decent bloat with Minion Tap/Heidelburg, deflects bleeds and makes rushers obedient. > During my untap phase, the Purge goes off. This has already been answered, but the Purge goes off when the minion's permanant controller's untap phase occurs. Therefore using your predator's minions is best because only your predator gets a chance to rescue before you have a chance to steal the minions. > Which of these is true?: > - None of the vampires I currently control go to torpor when the > card burns. In my version that happens, but only because they are older than the minions I choose to send to Baltimore. If you tempt an 11 cap then one of yours is going to go down also. > - The vampire who performed the action, who now belongs to my prey, > goes to torpor when the card burns. yes > - My prey must also choose a vampire to go to torpor. no > - The vampire chosen by my prey may be the same vampire who is already > going to torpor for having performed the action, since he is "a ready > vampire he or she controls who is not older than [himself]." That vampire goes by card text and all other methuselah's must choose. > - If I control a Lasombra when the card burns, I may choose which vampires > go to torpor, and I may choose a second vampire controlled by my prey, in > addition to the acting vampire. No, but if your prey controls a Lasombra he can choose who goes. In last nights game my predator was playing Lasombra vote and my prey was playing !Nosferatu rush. Early in last night's game I took control of my preys vamps and ditched most of my grave robbings, but after I ousted him I Tempted Gratiano and had him help bleed out my next prey. Jon

Scott - can you confirm this interpretation of Baltimore Purge? If you responded in this thread, I've missed it. Thanks. -josh "Joshua Duffin" <jtdu...@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:b19ee1$11be9a$1...@ID-121616.news.dfncis.de... [ quoted text not captured ]
