Last night we came up with a few questions for which we could not mutualy agree on the answers. I've reread the rules and the FAQ and couldn't find answers to them. For additional strikes the rule book states "you may use more than one strike card in the current round". Does everyone follow this rule verbatum and only allow the play of strike CARDS (that seems pretty restrictive compared to normal strikes)? Or do you allow an unaided hand attack or the use of a weapon as a strike without playing a strike card? The rule book states that for a minion's action to be a vote, a "political card is required". The master card Elysium The Arboretum, states that "A vampire can burn this card by calling a vote as a politcal action". It sounds to me that I can just say "my xxx vampire's action is to call a vote to burn the Elysiuim". My son says that per the rule book, I have to actualy play a politcal care (Arson?) in order to call the vote. Which is correct? If a minion plays a politcal card as its action, does it get +2 stealth just for playing the card? The rules state that playing a politcal card happens at +1 stealth, all of the political cards we have seen so far all have +1 stealth written on the card. So it sounds to me like the minion calling the vote (ie: playing the politcal card as his action) starts out at a stealth of +2 and thus any minions attempting to block would need at least an intercept of +2? My son claims that the +1 stealth on the card is just reiterating what the rule book is stating so only +1 intercept is necessary to block. Which is correct? Any action described on a card in play may be attempted by the appropriate minion without the need for any additional card. This includes PA cards (Elysium, Archon, Masquerade Enforcement, etc.) as well as (D) cards (Army of Rats, Haven Uncovered, etc.) >If a minion plays a politcal card as its action, does it get +2 stealth just >for playing the card? The +1 on the card is a reminder, like the "Political Action" text on the card (reiterates the symbol in the corner) and the "worth 1 vote" text (reiterates the rulebook 17.2). -- L. Like, "OK, Rufus says burn the Elysium..." and go with it. > > If a minion plays a politcal card as its action, does it get +2 stealth just > for playing the card? Well, when a minion takes an action for something 'outside' its controller's neighborhood, it is considered 0 stealth, or by card text. Since "Kine Resources Contested" is a political action, the acting minion gets the +1 Stealth intrinsic to the card. +1 Intercept would block 'em. Check out the section on the minion phase in the rulebook: it has a section (12.3.1) that specifies what minions can do, and if it's... stealthy. :) > > Thanks, > > Ray > --- Well, I just hope I'm right, *with* a proper explanation. The Elysium is the political card that you need to call the vote. >If a minion plays a politcal card as its action, does it get +2 stealth just >for playing the card? The +1 stealth on political actions is just a friendly reminder. A card in play (such as the Elysium), does not provide a vote for the Methuselah. [ quoted text not captured ]
