Hi Jon,
The last time you had any lengthy dialog with the newsgroup was a
discussion with L. Scott Johnson where the two of you were trying to
work out the amount and kind of posts you would be making. It seems
that you have made your decision as to how much participation you will
have as I have not seen any posts with any official answers from you.
Again, I must protest your lack of willingness to "ME TOO" a post. As I
have said before, even though L. Scott Johnson is respected, his name is
not well known outside of the newsgroup. He does not speak in an
official capacity. OFFICIAL answers are the only meaningful answers.
Your seal of approval is ESSENTIAL on any ruling where someone does not
respond with a quote of a previous official ruling.
I am assuming that you don't feel confortable making _any_ rulings
without going to the rules team first. If that is the case I'd sure
like to know (as I'm sure others would too) and then we'll all leave you
alone.
Beyond any off-the-cuff rulings there has been ample time to meet with
the Design Team and obtain at least some official answers to the many
questions that have been asked. If I'm not mistaken, you even mentioned
(weeks ago) that you were about to meet to discuss some of this. What's
up?
Finally, your lack of communication is inexcusable. I'm sure that if
your boss asked you a question you would either give him an answer
immediately or you would give him a definitive time of when he would get
it. If you couldn't provide the answer on time, you would notify him
that there were some holdups and then you'd give him another time of
when you'd get back to him. This is something most of us practice in
our jobs and personal lives. Frankly, it's a common courtesy.
Robert

Look again. It took me a while to nail the Rules Team to the wall and
have them answer my stack of questions.

By that logic, whenever a player anywhere in the world has a question
about VTES, I must be there to answer it officially. :) If you need an
official ruling, just throw "HEY SCALPEL!" in the subject line, and I'll
note it for the next Rules Team Meeting.

You've hit the nail on the head. You guys want absolutely binding,
set-in-stone Tom Wylie-strength rulings, which I can't give you without
Tom Wyuly (like the spelling, L Scott? :)
I'm trying to give you what you want: Tom Wylie rulings on a weekly basis.

I just did. Check my recent post.

I hope that I have corrected that. Let me know if I'm here enough from now on.

Oh, great. I finally lose my cool and vent on you and then you post the
same day. I'll just take the credit for your presence and say that I
had a particularly effective plea. ;) I don't think anyone will have
any problem with your current level of involvement. Good Luck!
