Hello, I was just wondering,....just how are retainers and allies used. DO they operate idependently or what...how are they played etc. Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated. THanks... Retainers are basically equipment that can be killed. They do not operate independently. A Minion takes the "Employ Retainer" action, and if successful, you place the Retainer on the acting Minion. If the retainer takes damage (only ranged can be directed at a retainer) equal to its life in a single combat, it is burned. A Retainers life points are refilled (it heals) at the end of every combat. Allies are exactly the same as Vampire, except that they are Mortal. A Minion takes a "Recruit Ally" action, and if successful, you place the ally in your uncontrolled region (to remind you that the Ally cannot act this turn). At the end of your turn (during the influence phase), the Ally moves to the controlled region. An Ally may not take a "Kndred Only" action. This includes: hunt and call a vote. An allies Life points may never be replinished (Renegade Garou and Hell Hound have exceptions stated on their cards). When an Ally loses its last life point, it is burned. Aggravated damage is treated as normal damage for Allies and Retainers.
