2 more questions came up in JOL and I'd like to be as accurate as possible in my rulings: 1. If a methuselah ousts his prey with his first minion's action, can subsequent minions bleed the next methusela in line (i.e. does he immediately become the new prey or does this occur at the end of the turn). Is this permitted without a D-action bleed card. 2. Is Burning Wrath playable during an Immortal Grapple? Thanks, --George

In article <GFINK.96A...@avalon.cs.ucdavis.edu>, gf...@avalon.cs.ucdavis.edu says... [ quoted text not captured ] To your first question: Yes. When your prey is ousted, your ex-grand-prey immediately becomes your prey. To your second: This is currently being argued by some people due to templating issues w/ bastard sword and Bang Nakh.(The whole "this strike is based off of hand damage but is obviously a melee strike" effect). The way that I and most of the people I know play it is that yes, Burning wrath is a hand strike, as is scorpion's sting and all other cards which say "strike:+x hand damage" which are not melee weapons. Those which are listed as such on melee weapons are melee weapon strikes. Once again, this has come under debate, but this is simpler and usually less of a pain to remember. Alec Chang

Is this permitted without a D-action bleed card. Yes. Each action is independent of all history - only the current cards in play and other 'end-of-game' effects apply. The new prey is the only prey, and can be bled without a card. There is no history in VtES (except for 6th tradition, Lextalionis, etc. which make their own exceptions) >2. Is Burning Wrath playable during an Immortal Grapple? By Tom's explanation of Bastard Sword wording, "No". The question is currently before the Rules Team, however. -- L. Shawn, if the answer remains "no", could you provide clear guidelines as to what strikes are to be considered hand strikes, for purposes of Wolf Claws, et al.? That would help a lot. --- Eric Pettersen pe...@cgl.ucsf.edu (NeXTmail capable)
