In a Temptation of Greater Power/Hostile Takeover auction, may a player outbid himself (ie bid again when she is already the highest bidder)? I think it should be allowable, as there are no card-text restrictions on how bidding should be done, and as far as I know there's nothing inherent to auctions keeping a bidder from changing her mind about how much she wants to pay. (On the other hand, I can imagine that in cash auctions, the auction house might not allow this as it could look like someone's trying to drive up the price for some nefarious purpose. Which is also the case with ToGP/HT, really, but I don't think there's anything in VTES rules prohibiting such nefariosity. The Methuselah playing the card is the one conducting the auction, but presumably she does not get to make up any auction rules she pleases...) [ quoted text not captured ] Sure. The Methuselah should simply bid the higher price to begin with, but if later calculation makes her realize she should have bid higher, she is free to do so. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
