what happens if Ethan steals a master: discipline card that is a vampire, via Legion or Shock Troops? does the vampire just 'dissipate'? or can Ethan not do it, as the skill card doesn't count as a master: discipline card while in play as a vampire? assume same follows for Weakness, Absord the Mind, etc.? salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm

While we're at it can I check that he can't steal a Sanguine Instruction?

well, from the card texts: Legion: '...This vampire can put a Master: Discipline cards from your hand or ash heap in play to represent a fledgeling...' Ethan: '... Ethan may steal a Master Discipline card from another vampire...' the M:D cards represents a vampire, it's not 'on' a vampire so it can't be stolen 'from' a vampire (it's how I'd rule it, but I've been wrong from time to time). and SI is not a M:D card. conclusion: Ethan can't steal either the M:D from the fledgeling or a SI. -- Direct access to this group with http://web2news.com http://web2news.com/?rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad

A vampire cannot use a "steal equipment" effect to steal a card that doesn't count as equipment while in play. A vampire cannot use a "steal Master: Discipline" effect to steal a card that doesn't count as a Master: Discipline while in play. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
