I have a Gangrel/Ravnos Fortitude/Animalism deck that makes heavy use of Owl Companions and also Dawn Operations. If I have a vamp with an Owl Companion as an ally that is blocked after attempting an action, can I initiate the ability of the Owl Companion to see the Methuselah's hand BEFORE I play the Dawn Operation? Or do all action modifiers/reactions need to be played before the Companion's ability can be utilized? Myron Mychal

In article <36AE2924...@NOSPAMcharlesindustries.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] The Owl Companion's ability applies only during combat (card text). Dawn Operation, since it is an action modifier, must be played before combat starts. So yes, all action modifiers and reactions that anyone wants to play must be played before the Owl Companion's ability comes into effect. And Dawn Operation must be played before combat. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@wizards.com) VTES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast.
