On Potomac Dist they have Sabbat War already listed as being available
2/15, but only the boosters. I hope this does not indicate that only
the boosters will be reprinted. Can anyone ease my mind?
I finally got my first Derange! And -- what's the big deal? So you
make a Vampire into a Malk Antitribu.

There are combos, but ignoring those, at superior, they slow decks down. Now,
that doesn't sound so bad, but unlike a number of other cards which do much the
same, it only goes away if you burn the vampire it's on, though having it on a
torpored vamp who will never get much is close to getting rid of it - just
lingers to annoy everyone except the owner who in all likelihood is completely
immune.
In far too many situations, it ends up being a lot like Sensory Dep. It's yet
another encouragement to play weenies since you can afford to have those
screwed with.
Also, Cam titled vampires lose their titles when they go Sabbat. As many vote
decks lack stealth or combat, it's often a pain to get it off of the, formerly,
titled vamp.

Actually that "combo" is one of the best tricks the !Mal can pull out
of their hat. Get out some massive !Mal (say Hannibal), derange one of
your prey's important minions, call Sacrifice with Hannibal, and
Presto! - it's gone. Okay, vote dominance with !Mal might be a bit
tricky, but anyhow...

With Hannibal and Korah out, that's 7 votes in favor, and you can
usually cancel 2 or 3 votes, making it effectively 9-10 votes in
favor. (If you can't cancel at least 2 votes, odds are you don't have
trouble passing the vote with 7 in favor. =)

Sickest deck using Derange "combos" I've seen so far burnt ANY vampire every
turn.
Derange with Yorik, and then Protect thine own with Leandro. BURN ANYONE on
the table. Yeesh. To top it off the deck used Carlotta Giovanni to get
back whatever card was needed for the "combo". However the deck was always
the victim of table wrath.

Everything remains on schedule for us to receive the Sabbat War reprint the
middle of this month. I would expect it will be in retail stores world-wide
by the very end of January.
Vampire's relaunch has been successful due primarily to all of your efforts
to let retailers know this game is in demand. Sabbat War's first printing
sell-out (which green lighted Final Nights and a 3rd expansion) has all been
due to everyone working with their retailers and getting each retailer
excited about carrying the game. With a hoard of me-too Pokemon CCGs
flooding the market, it remains as important as ever to win retailers over
to Vampire - one retailer at a time. If you want more Sabbat War with this
new printing, please once again call or visit your favorite game retailer(s)
and let them know you want the product ordered. Placing pre-orders with your
retailer is even better for them and better insures product availability for
you.

Both Starters and Boosters are being printed. 2/15 is late, I imagine
Potomac will revise this date soon.

Well, you can only cancel one vampire's votes with TVC. But if you put
Derange on a titled Camarilla vampire, they don't get any votes either.
FWIW, I finally managed to acquire 11 copies of Derange, so I finally
built the Derange/Sacrifice deck. It's a lot of fun and makes your prey
very unhappy. A caveat, however, is that part of the deck design does
require some combat and bleed defense as it isn't the fastest deck in
the world and you have to use a 8+ cap vampire to call the Sacrifice.

3rd Expansion? Can we perhaps have a name, tentative or solid? Where
can we apply for playtesting?

Well, it hasn't been entirely tweaked yet. It's only in its second
version right now. For that, and other reasons, it'll probably be June
before I can post it.

Not sure how many Mind Rape cards I have, but I might be able to trade
for Betrayer cards. I'm on a kick to do bad things with Uriah Winter
again.

We're not announcing anything on the 3rd expansion yet.

The fact of its existance is a good thing and says plenty in itself.
I'm happy.

Ok, I'm mathematically inept, and I don't get where the 3rd expansion
comes from.
The only thing I can think of is that Dark Sovereigns was 1st, and
Ancient Hears is 2nd....meaning that 3rd expansion is Camarilla
specific?
Then that would mean that "Final Nights" is Sabbat related?
thanks,

Not necessarily inept, just missing some info perhaps. Steve was
talking about White Wolf produced expansions. Sabbat War was expansion
#1, Final Nights is #2, and then a 3rd one is I guess green-lighted, but
no concrete details have been forthcoming. Sabbat War was actually the
4th expansion, Final Nights will be the 5th, and soforth... Does that
clear up at all?

Final Nights is Independent Clans related - 4 clans that can really use
some beefing up (FoS, Ass, Gio, and Rav).

??? I'll try to explain the history the best that I can. This may be a bit
extraneous but...
Originally there was Jyhad (the first, "Limited" edition). I *think* VTES next
came out (not completely sure on this one). What they basically did was pull a
few cards out, add a few new cards in, try to make the rules clearly, etc. and
also change the backs of the cards. (VTES is kind of like a 2nd Edition and is
called "Unlimited," though it is much scarcer than the overproduced Jyhad).
Thus Jyhad and VTES (focusing solely only Camarilla) are more or less the base
set.
The first expansion was Dark Sovereigns (which "focused" on the Independent
Giovannia and Ravnos, though there were plenty of Cam stuff). The second
expansion was Ancient Hearts (similar to DS but "focusing" on Assamites and
Followers of Set).
The next thing was the Sabbat which was a stand-alone expansion (which means
you could play decks that were exclusively Sabbat). Sabbat was the last thing
printed by WotC and happened many years ago.
Since all that stuff happened so long ago, Sabbat War is the first "new"
expansion (but 4th expansion overall), focusing on the Sabbat clans. (Thus we
already have something Sabbat related). Because SW did so well, a second "new"
expansion (5th expansion overall) called Final Nights has been confirmed. Final
Nights is NOT Sabbat related -- it's supposed to boost the Independents.
So what Mr. Wieck is saying is that b/c SW did so well, a 3rd "new" expansion
(making it the 6th overall expansion) has been green-lighted, though we don't
know anything about it. It makes sense for it to do something with the
Camarilla (for the sake of the new players), but it's anyone's guess.

Thanks Chris & Halcyan,
I've been out of Jyhad for a while (due to moving away from
player-friends...etc) and due to the insane cost of SABBAT cards.
($250 for a booster box on ebay)
Of course with the release and rerelease of SABBAT WARS, I'm able to
start sliding into it again. "Final Nights" is the one I didn't know
about. Is there any more information (fan site, etc) about it. Or is
the "boost the Independents" all we got? (how big is it, release date,
etc).
I'm a fan of White Wolf's, but their web site isn't really an endless
tome of info, unfortunately.
Well, today is the 12th, so I'll be checking with my local card shop
to see if they've got SABBAT WAR Y2K1 cards in. Probably not though,
since those guys might not even wake up and open the store by 3 p.m..
But I'm driving into Indy tomorrow and will be able to check another
place.
Thanks,
Rader

About 150 new cards. Early June.

That's okay. To be honest, I haven't played an actual game of Jyhad for
hmm...let's see...probably 5-6 years. (Though my interest was rekindled 2 years
ago, I STILL haven't found a real playgroup).

From an older article on Final Nights, there's this address from the Lasombra's
site:
http://members.tripod.com/~Lasombra/final_nights.htm
It says a minimum of 120 new cards and was going for an April/May release.
Periodically there have been some updates and revisions.
Could be wrong but I think last time this was up to 120-150 new cards and
either a June or July release. And I think they decided to do pre-constructed
starters in the end. You'll probably want to look around on the message board
and find Mr. Wieck's various messages.
Halcyan 2
Well, thanks for everyone's input. Very good to hear.
I'm replying to my post because I wanted to update my story from
today.
I DID call my local comic book store today to see if they were getting
in Sabbat War 2nd printing. He said he didn't know anything about a
2nd print run.
However, strangely enough...it turns out that JUST yesterday, they
found a hidden box of the 1st printing of Sabbat War behind their
shelf. Needless to say, I quickly ran down there and bought it. They
had just put it back on the shelf yesterday. What an odd find. Too
bad it wasn't a hidden box of "Sabbat" instead of "Sabbat War". Oh
well...can't be too wishful.
I find it funny, though, that my g/f hunted everywhere to score a just
10 packs for a Christmas present for me, and here I find a lost full
box...but the day 2nd printing was suppose to show up and satiate our
thirst....

Amazing how that seems to happen. I've encountered that 'lost and
found' syndrome myself.

I think it is much more likely that your local store had one put away for a
treasured customer who stiffed them and didn't want it, so they "found" it and
sold it to you.
