Though you could ante from your crypt if everyone agreed to it... as always,
you can use any ante variants you feel like. But yes, the rules say you
ante from the library, not from the crypt.

I think a reasonable ante variant would be to allow each player to flip
one card from both their library and their crypt and pick which to ante
(it provides some minimal insurance against royal hose jobs).
