Three quick questions: (1) can you influence yourself to death? (2) can you recruit a ally if you cant pay the cost? but most interesting (3) can you block an archon (cost 1 pool) if you only have one pool left? If so does combat occur or do you die instantly when you say "I block"? Thx -- Frederik Vindum Jensen

Archon burns 1 blood to attempt to block (no pool). I think you mean Aching Beauty. You can always attempt to block.

You can recruit an ally if you can pay the cost, even if paying the cost would oust you, but you cannot attempt to recruit an ally if you do not have enough pool to pay the cost. >>(3) can you block an archon (cost 1 pool) if you only have one pool left? >>If so does combat occur or do you die instantly when you say "I block"? > > Archon burns 1 blood to attempt to block (no pool). > I think you mean Aching Beauty. > You can always attempt to block. Assuming Aching Beauty: If doing so doesn't violate the "play to win" rule, then you can do so, yes. If that ousts you, then there is no combat. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. So the same ruling would apply to Master cards as well? If I play a Warzone Hunting Ground (as an example) while having only two pool that is a legal maneuver that has the unfortunate side effect of ousting me? And do all the benefits of having an ousted prey go to my predator because of this? I've done this in a non tournament game once but want to see if it was handled correctly.

If your group doesn't have a "play to win" house rule (explicit or as an implicit "gentlman's agreement"), then you're free to throw the game if you can do so via the legal mechanics available. Right. I actually thought of the question when first playing with Aching Beauty (and forgot that Archon was blood not pool). Thx for the quick response to both you and LSJ. -- Frederik Vindum Jensen

If a Methusaleh accidentally ousts himself (plays an HG without realizing he only has 2 pool) then what? Do the rules prevent him from ousting himself (even by accident)? Or do you allow him to take it back with some sort of warning? Halcyan 2

Regardless of how you are ousted, it is always your predator who gets the vp and 6 pool (with exceptions made for things like life boon and political flux). You can be ousted by a vote from cross table, influencing yourself out, whatever. The goodies still go to your predator. salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm

Or do you allow him to take it back with some sort of warning? If you accidentally violate the rules, you have violated the rules. See section 114 of the penalty guidelines (which assume accidental misplay by default) and section 200. http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/veknJudgesGuide.html [ quoted text not captured ]
