>>Can the Damage from a bomb be prevented by Skin of Steel or other >>pervention cards. > I would say yes... the use of a bomb is considered damage by strike... If yours is the minion opposing the one with the bomb, then yes - it can use Skin of Steel to prevent the damage from the bomb. However, if yours is the minion using the bomb as their strike, then no. The damage done to the bomb wielding minion is, for the lack of a better word, environmental. It is a side effect of the strike. While the bomb weilding minion cannot use Skin of Steel to prevent the damage from the bomb, it can use other damage prevention cards such as Skin of Rock or Resiliance to name a few. a0 -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own

If someone else blows the Bomb up in your face, Skin of Steel works. If you blow up the Bomb, Skin of Steel doesn't work. Damage prevention cards that prevent amounts of damage (Skin of Rock, Resilience, etc.) can always prevent Bomb's damage, no matter which side you're on. John Baker

The opposing minion can use Skin of Steel to prevent the damage you are doing to him with the Bomb, yes. However, you cannot use Skin of Steel to prevent the damage you are doing to yourself with the Bomb: Damage (Combat) * "Damage from a strike" only includes damage done to the opposing target. Side effect damage is not counted as "damage from a strike". Therefore, self-inflicted damage from Zip Gun, Grenade, Burst of Sunlight, Body of Sun, etc. is side effect damage and is not preventable by "prevent damage from a strike" effects like Skin of Steel, Leather Jacket, etc. [LSJ 970108] [1] [2] -- L. >The opposing minion can use Skin of Steel to prevent the damage >you are doing to him with the Bomb, yes. AH... right... I wasn't thinking about that... but I would agree because of the wording on skin of steel... but then I have another question... Could I prevent some of the damage to a self detonated bomb with a skin of rock since it just states to prevent damage? Vince

[ quoted text not captured ] Yes. You can use damage prevention effects to prevent any damage so long as you meet the requirements of the effect. For Skin of Rock, the only requirement is that you be in combat (since it is a combat card). (And that there is some damage to prevent, of course.) -- L.
