Hello, fellow Methuselah ! The European Championship will take place in Paris, France on Saturday the 22nd and on Sunday the 23rd of September. We have the facilities to host about 150 players! Each player should prepare for a two day tournament since ousted players may play in side events. Please visit this site http://www.multimania.com/ec2001 , register, and see you in Paris! bye, Stephane Ventrue Prince of Paris Regent of France http://www.multimania.com/parisvekn/

What about language issues - especially French vs English? 2. Is smoking permitted? 3. What is the tie-break in the qualifier for the last 10 places? With 100+ participants I can see there being a lot of players on about 6 points after three rounds and one final game will do nothing to settle this as they won't be in it. Andrew

If you mean for the "first 10" place, then the answer is: "by the standard method for resolving ties in V:EKN tournaments" [VEKN 3.1] I don't imagine anyone will spend any time trying to resolve the ties for the last 10 places. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. We had that kind of experience at the Canadian Championship and that was real funny. I can still hear Marc-Andre Tremblay trying to use the 3 words he knows of english : ) About 15 players wasn't able to speak a word of french and about the same number wasn't able to speak english. The other 25 or so players were able to speak almost the 2 languages so they've done their best to translate some informations between players. Of course, the judge were there to make fair translation... ( for only 2$ ) : ) Remy

Table talk has to be in English, if at least one player doesn't speak the local language. The last two ECs made a shining example of this, there have been no problems regarding language at all, judges being also of great help there... :) Carl

> 1. What about language issues - especially French vs English? English will be the language by default. (that means unless all the table know another language ) There will be one juge for each 20-25 players; so they will help if needed. > 2. Is smoking permitted? No. But smokers can go out between 2 games to smoke. (isn't that bad for your health ? ;)) Bye, Stéphane Ventrue Prince of Paris http://www.multimania.com/parisvekn/ http://www.multimania.com/ec2001/

It will help the organisation to know how many qualified players there will be.
