I made a more basic version of this and it worked okay. I changed it
around some. The "trick" is to Banishment/Peace of Khemeton on Sonja
Blue (as appropriate) to gain pool.

That doesn't work. If Sonja leaves play, remove her from the game. The
Diamond Thunderbolt tech is prety funny though. I had thought of that as
a way to keep Sonja around. I mean, she's not a bad vampire for 1 pool,
just to play with. I'd include a couple Rumors of Gehenna or Parthenons
so you can protect Sonja (CRACK-BOOM!) and still play regular masters.

Uncontrolled is not in play.
Sonja will be removed from the game if she is Banished.

Sure. Here are a couple of emails I had with LSJ.

Oh dear oh dear. LSJ may wear many hats but I'm pretty much 100% sure that
he is not in the business of handing out false rulings and such. Maybe you
misread or misunderstood a rule?

Sorry about that.
I was focusing on the loss-of-change-of-control angle (Thunderbolt) and overlooked
the problems she faced when leaving play.

Well, according to LSJ above, it was not MY misunderstanding this time.
Moral victory I guess... :-(
Still was a neat idea...

Change all those Banishments for KRCs and you still may have a good deck.
You pay 1 pool for a minion who can remove titles! You get the added
bonus of being immune to stuff like Form of Corruption, Temptation of
Greater Power, Graverobbing and other annoying effects. You can block
vampires who Dare the Dawn.
It's just a matter of changing your plan from "I'll gain 4 pool per turn"
to "I'll do 3 pool to my prey per turn." It's not a bad strategy.

You could probably recycle her with things like Social Ladder, or the Soul
Gem. Hmm. There must be an über-combo for Soul Gem... Turbo Sonja, anyone?

Social Ladder is a pretty good idea, although it's kind of a slow way to
bring out your fatties.
Turbo-Sonja (in the style of Turbo-Arika) would be pretty difficult.
You'd only want to Diamond Thunderbolt once, in theory, because you're
hoping to sweep the table during your next minion phase. Also, if you
Soul Gem up a new Sonja, you won't get the 4 pool because you only get
that when you move her to your ready region during your influence phase.
If only there were a way to rescue vampires from torpor during your
influence phase.
It's possible that removing Sonja from the game might interact strangely
with the Soul Gem, but it seems to me like it would work normally. I
can't see why it wouldn't.

Forget it, I didn't think it over. Soul Gem seems like a really bad idea
at second glance. Maybe I'll have a third sometime...

Golgonda was changed from 'burn' to 'removed from the game' primarily
because of soul gem abuse, iirc.
But if you burn sonja first (with excess daring/force of will agg
damage, or whatever) it'd trigger soul gem, and then she'd leave the
game. i guess.
