There are a couple of FN previews on the WW page. Interestingly, it's also mentioned that the number of new cards is 162, but the total number of cards, including reprints, is 386. This means that an average of 54 cards for each pre-con will be reprints, so we can probably expect to find several reprinted rares per pre-con. :-) Flux

I was thinking of only buying the pre-cons but if they're mostly full of DS/AH reprints (of which I have enough) then I'll think again. Just one pre-con for the new rulebook perhaps. Andrew

[ quoted text not captured ] Well, the WW site says: "There are four different starter decks, each containing a fixed selection of cards (including two new vampires not found in the boosters in each). The booster packs contain a random assortment of 11 cards from a pool of 162 all-new cards (54 commons, 54 uncommons, and 54 rares). The preconstructed starters are built with a few cards from this mix plus reprinted cards to bring the total number of cards to 386." The key words being "a few cards from this mix." While I'm guessing that "few" here does not strictly mean "three," you can assume it's not many. If you want old cards, (say, for *new* players, which is what the precons are really for) then the precons should be great. If you're looking for all new cards, then you should probably steer clear of the precons. -- Pat Ricochet Soul Jar'rn Fool of Atlanta "You can't make a fact out of an opinion by raising your voice."

I just subtracted the number of new cards from the total number of cards, and divided by the number of pre-cons (4). It makes perfect sense, since AH/DS is no longer available, and unlike SW, no reprints will be available on the boosters, so new players will be much more dependent on the pre-cons to get the reprinted cards. I expect most of those reprints will be from AH, DH can still be found on some places (and AH cards are usually more usefull anyway). Flux

[ quoted text not captured ] Per the information on the web site for the past few months, the preconstructed decks will built with mostly reprints. Each starter also contains two new vampires not found in the booster pack mix. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Except that they're doing the same thing that they did with sabbat war i.e. having two new vampires in the starters that won't be in the boosters e.g. Amelia, so if you want a few copies of a great new vampire you may have to buy some starters.
