No. ;-)

I currently use a lot the Blood Dolls in conjontion with blood gain cards :
Leonardo, HGs, Blanche Hill (and Anarch locations or equips to gain more
blood and more stealth) etc. I also love the Dreams of the Sphynx, and the
locations which give pool to an uncontrolled of a Clan (Arcane Library, Art
Museum etc.). I have used the Renewed Vigor / Minion Tap or the MT / Voter
Cap combos (I never got to play the old 5th trad, and don't think I would
have enjoyed playing it in spite of its efficiency), but I find them more
predictable, and prefer steady, regular, and more discreet pool gain.

My favorit is a Salubri combo.
Minion tap, spirit marionette borrowing some1 elses vampire preferably an
inner cirlce, tapping hindenburg castle and leaving one blood, bleeding and
if the borrowed vampire has fortitude playing daring the dawn :)
I use it alot in my favorit deck at the moment (Salubri/Harbringers with no
Slaughter Houses)

- Minion tap, rush, cannon and taste
- Lots of blood dolls+ anarch saloon/hospital food/anarch free press/status
perfectus
- The boring minion tap-voter (a guy around here has managed to do a deck
triggering this combo with all camarilla clans. He even put pre skill cards
on etrius)
- lots of blood dolls, POT pro combat, and claws, decapitate, ritual of the
bitter rose
- 15 art scams, lots of embraces and change of targets.
- 15+ Kindred Spirits. This deck also allows you to get back almost all
blood from your little demented, since they need no blood at all to run
- Blood Doll-Cryptic mission
- Menele and raves. Well, this one, rather than bloat, what does is to
refuel menele in order to bring more minions in play. Combat and taste to
refill "donants", or go voter cap if you go for vote angle
-Another pseudo bloat, well, rather than pseudo-bloat is put in play your
monsters and let your prey pay it, is the turbo zillah's valley-Parity shift
(8 of each) so your prey ends up paying your vamps.

I wouldn't call it preferred, just that it was a fun game I played not long
back.. by the end I had on the table:
12 vampires, 5 blood dolls, 3 hunting grounds, 3 masters/turn, 17 votes,
obf/PRE voting weenies. Strangely enough, that was enough to win the game
for me, even with two pure bleed decks bleeding me!
hehehe! Go the weenies!
Cheers!

Used to be Sabbat 2-caps, Hungry Coyote and Tribute to the Master,
with added Parthenon overkill. Beast or his pals would Hidden Lurk if

I've grown sick of weenies, but I still love the idea of super
hunting. (Anarch Free Press runs a story about Hesha the Anarch with
three Blood Dolls hunting Hospital Food at the Inbase Disco using
Aaron's Razor...)

The boring old Minion Tap/Voter Cap seems to still be a winner.
Hesha with the Razor or Inbase + 3 Blood Dolls.
Hungry Coyote + a stack of BDs.
Mass Cryptic Mission on BD'ed THAU weenies.
Govern the Unaligned. I really think this card is awesome. At our
storyline tourney on Sunday, I don't think i had a single bloat with
GtU blocked all day. People see you packing DOM and stealth, and think
it's far safer to save their intercept to block a bleed instead. In
the final alone, I think GtUs bloated me for about 21 pool.

Yeah, about 10 Effective Managments. Actually Ian Lee won a tournament with
it so you can find the deck list somewhere on Lasombra's page. Its certainly
the most 'fun' way to bloat.

I'm still partial to the Blood Tears/Blood Doll module, for
small-midcap decks without fortitude, but I'll take any pool gain I
can get. Example: Ghivran Dalaal (Ravnos 5-cap) is an anarch with
one blood and a palatial estate. During untap and master phase, he
gets one from his Palatial Estate, I tap The Coven (as passed from the
left) for two, move one blood over from a Firebrand, Minion Tap him
for five. He hunts this turn, next turn he gets another from
Palatial, plays superior Restoration, and is full again, ready for
another Tap if needed. wheeeee!
If I have to minion tap a 5- or 6-cap, so be it. I'll even play
Ascendance if I have extra master slots (rare, but it happens). Con
Boon/Bribes is good for at least one pool. :) Sudden pool gain in
mid-game can be enough to give a predator incentive to start worrying
about his own skin a bit more than yours.
I also like Powerbase: Montreal in combination with Dreams, Art Museum
(or similar), and/or Info. Highway.
One more note: I categorize bleed reduction as a roundabout form of
pool gain.
Basically, It's just a matter of making room in the library for pool
gain, because any deck can bloat a little bit.

Funny, govern downs routinely get blocked here, although granted they
are more likely to 'slip one through' then a bleed forward. It can
get rather annoying when you are purposely leaving your prey alone and
yet he still blocks your govern downs. :)

Another fun one that I haven't seen posted yet is Ravnos embrace with
tribute to the master and patshiv
Eric Freeman
"Eric Freeman" <eric...@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:<xpj7b.10590$Ly2.1...@cletus.bright.net>...

Perhaps because of this problem: Embraces now come into play as 1-caps
with no discipline card. So when you Tribute to the Master, all your
Embraces are empty, and must hunt before you have a chance to Patshiv
(or to Blood Feast if you're talking about Sabbat Clans). And then
when you do get the Patshiv off, they're already full and the blood
generated is lost (even if they were all untapped, which they aren't
because they all hunted.)
And it's not *that* effective of a combination to keep putting
discipline cards on Embraces, because that reduces the number of
master phase actions you have to Tribute with.
Tributes still work fine with Progeny/Creation Rites though; Creation
Rites/Tribute/Blood Feast can work well for bloating.

I think I've had best success with smallish !Toreador, Art Scams, Blood
Dolls and Hungry Coyote. Add Fortitude masters, multiple copies of Lolita
and Sheila Mezarin and Freak Drives for extra fun.
Sometimes my prey is just happy I'm not doing anything to him (yet) and my
predator is just happy I'm not blocking many bleeds (no need). Other
times someone cross-table will shout "OHMIGODWEMUSTSTOPHIM!" At that
point it's useful to lose a minion or two to torpor and go a little low on
pool, so I can go back to bloating in peace. :)

Similarly, Hesha + friends with Temptation, tons of Blood Dolls,
Heidelberg Castle. Hesha + Blood dolls is always good, and when the
tempted vamps come to refill your other vamps, it's double good.
Corruption + Khobar can work too.

- Ridiculous amount of pool gain: Pile of weenies & Tribute to the
master or Consanquineous Boon.
- For constant pool gain: Minion Tap/Blood Doll + refill or Parity
Sifts with cards that let you control your pool.
- Maximum profit without any real (own) loss: Derange+Malkavian
Dementia + Minion Tap + Malkavian Time Auction
- Maximum profit with maximum loss for someone else:
Derange+Dementia+Minion Tap+Golconda
- Pool gain with style points: Rush 8+ cap. Vampire. Burn it. Deamonic
Possession followed next turn with Golconda
- By snakey style: Weenie corruption with Khobar towers
- By very stupid way: Having 10+ Malkavian Games (and Parthenon) on
your deck and being very very lucky!
- By cheating: Let your friend give you 29 pool via Succubus club
- By winning: Table sweep will give you 4 or 5 x 6 pool :P

I'm pretty sure you can use Guard Duty to untap and block (D) actions
at your location even if they're at zero stealth. Otherwise, you
wouldn't be able to use Second Tradition to untap to block zero
stealth actions.
[ quoted text not captured ]
Card text on second tradition: "even if intercept is not yet needed"
Guard Duty lacks such card text.
General rule: cannot add intercept if intercept is not needed.

stupied cards should have errata... guard duty is a stupied card!
/henrik isaksson
[ quoted text not captured ]
Why should rules that you do not understand cause cards that you do not
understand to have errata?
Try reading the rulebook:
[6.2.2] 2. STEALTH AND INTERCEPT
Stealth can be added during an action only when needed. Likewise, intercept
can be added during an action only when needed.
...and then the card:
Guard Duty
Action
+2 stealth action. Put this card on the acting minion and choose a location.
If the chosen location is the target of a (D) action (and you control the
location), this minion can burn 1 blood or burn this card to untap and
attempt to block with +1 intercept.

It may fit the rules but it's a damn silly card if you require someone
to use stealth against your locatin before your guard can protect it.

Haven't you ever watched movies where the heros walked boldly past the

After yesterday's Storyline Turku (Finland), I have a new favorite method:
Blood Dolled Antoinette DuChamp and oodles of Life in the City. (She hunts
if I do not have a LitC in my hand.)
The last game went like this:
my predator: "My turn, no master. First, Muddles..."
me: "...will rush Antoinette again?"
my predator: "Yes."

I understand the rules perfectly well. Where do I claim not to understand the rules or this card?
What's silly is that I believe that the person that designed Guard duty intended it to be usable if
a minion targets the location with zero stealth.
