Silly Gnat, the ones that Muricia converts are only STERILE when the
are Arihimanes. When you put the Clan Impersonation on the Gangrel
Antitribu (making them Gangrel Antitribu) it overides Muricia's
special leaving them with a level of Spiritus, but a non-sterile
Gangrel Antitribu.

Why does the Clan Impersonation remove the sterile trait? If Muricia
Clan Impersonates to !Gangrel, she would not lose the sterile trait.
Text on Muricia states that the vampire becomes a sterile Ahrimane.
Clan Impersonation simply changes the clan of the vampire, so wouldn't
that then make the vamp a sterile Blahblahblah. LSJ?

Sabbat: During your untap phase, a Gangrel antitribu you control may
burn 1 blood to become a sterile Ahrimane and gain 1 level of
Spiritus. +1 strength. Sterile.
Because the sterile trait is directly linked to being an Ahrimane. If
it said that "During your untap phase, a Gangrel antitribu you control
may burn 1 blood to become an Ahrimane and gain 1 level of Spiritus.
That vampire becomes sterile." then it would permanently render that
vampire sterile.

I stopped reading here. Any reference to "Clan Impersonation" makes me
quit reading a decklist.

Where does it say so?
The online rulebook (chapter 11, "Special terms") says:
"Sterile: Sterile vampires cannot take actions to put other vampires in
play."
And "Rules glossary" from the same source:
"Sterile: A vampire that cannot take an action to create a vampire."
That's *all*. Nowhere does it say that it's linked to being an Ahrimane.
In fact, the only mention of Ahrimanes is a list of Sabbat clans and
bloodlines.

[ open on suburban kitchen, Wife and Husband arguing ]
Wife: New Shimmer is a floor wax!
Husband: No, new Shimmer is a dessert topping!
Wife: It's a floor wax!
Husband: It's a dessert topping!
Wife: It's a floor wax, I'm telling you!
Husband: It's a dessert topping, you cow!
Spokesman: [ enters quickly ] Hey, hey, hey, calm down, you two. New
Shimmer is both a floor wax and a dessert topping! Here, I'll spray
some on your mop.. [ sprays Shimmer onto mop ] ..and some on your
butterscotch pudding. [ sprays Shimmer onto pudding ]
[ Husband eats while Wife mops ]
Husband: Mmmmm, tastes terrific!
Wife: And just look at that shine! But will it last?
Spokesman: Hey, outlasts every other leading floor wax, 2 to 1. It's
durable, and it's scuff-resistant.
Husband: And it's delicious!
Spokesman: Sure is! Perks up anything from an ice cream sundae to a
pumpkin pie!
Wife: Made from an exclusive non-yellowing formula.
Husband: I haven't even touched my pudding and I'm ready for more!
Wife: But what about black heel marks?
Spokesman: Dirt, grime, even black heel marks, wipe clean with a damp
mop.
[ Husband accidentally sprays Shimmer onto the floor ]
Husband: Oh, sorry, honey, I'll clean that up!
Wife: Oh, no problem, sweetheart, not with new Shimmer!
[ Spokesman laughs continuously as he approaches the camera ]
Spokesman: New Shimmer, for the greatest shine you ever tasted!

1) What exact text? The only place "sterile Ahrimane" appears in the current
card set is on Muricia's text.
2) No, LSJ shouldn't have to make a pronouncement, since everything indicates
only one answer (which happens to be the correct one).
If there's some ambiguity, please describe it.
[ quoted text not captured ]
If a vampire who is converted to a sterile Ahrimane by Muricia's text
then switches clans (say to Ventrue), does the vampire remaile
sterile?
[ quoted text not captured ]
I understand the issue. I'm wondering why the answer indicated by card text and
rules text is not taken as the answer.
That is, what makes the alternative seem, in any way, possible?

I am with ya on this one Swampy...wouldn't it have just been easier to
answer. the. question? He could have just responded "correct" to the
"no it isn't" comment.

I'm with scott on this one. An answer has been given. If he doesnt
understand it, perhaps he should strive to understand it, so he doesnt
ask stupid questions again.
So. Yes, there'd be a sterile ventrue.
read any trait other sterile instead, if that makes it more clear.
Black Hand Ahrimane. CE - still black hand.
Cheers,
B

I gave you one. Straight, short, clear. You didn't buy it. Scott was
wondering why.

Real world example:
I buy a blue chair.
I saw off the back of the chair.
Now I have a table.
Is the table still blue?
Answer: yes, because the "blueness" and "chairness" had nothing to do
with each other.
Back to card text:
".. becomes a sterile Ahrimane".
Are the sterile trait and the membership of clan Ahrimane connected by
game rules (like the title of prince and membership of the Camarilla
sect)?
Answer: no.
So, if one changes, the other is unaffected.

Dude! The key to *any* good deck strategy is "First I Clan

Ah. So it's common to your playgroup then. I mentioned the preceding
post to Jon, and he replied saying that if he notices "First I Clan
Impersonate..." that is when he _starts_ reading...

Oh, absolutely. I'm glad it has spread trans-continentally.

You make it sound like syphilis.
(To be fair, I'm not sure which one has the biggest problems.)
