If my vampire plays Blood to Water against a minion without enough blood on him (less than 3 for basic, less than 5 for Superior), is the vampire burned, or is the word *or* refer to either being in combat with a vampire *or* an ally? First interpretations of the card meant that the opposing vampire is burned if it can't burn the blood, but upon further review, it looks like it could mean that the vampire just loses that amount of blood without being burnt. What's the correct interpretation? Scott Halvorson halv...@cptc.wisc.edu

[ quoted text not captured ] "Otherwise" is intended to contrast with "If the opponent is a vampire...". Thus, the card only burns allies. This is mentioned in the compilation of official "Clarifications" that LSJ posts each month. -- Lupus Australis ____ ____ \ \----/ / |()__()| __\ __ /__ / __\()/__ \ |/ \==/ \| | || |

What's the correct interpretation? Blood to Water [AH] - Combat (tha) (2) * The "otherwise" refers to the opposing minion *being* an Ally. Blood to Water won't burn vampires. [TOM 960607] -- L. The "OR" is for allies. Blood to Water CANNOT burn vampires. CANNOT burn vampires. Repeat - CANNOT burn vampires. > First interpretations of the card meant that the >opposing vampire is burned if it can't burn the blood, but upon further >review, it looks like it could mean that the vampire just loses that >amount of blood without being burnt. If a vampire has less then 3 blood (or 5 for superior) all of their blood is burned and nothing else. Of course, a canny player will follow that up Walk of Flame :) -- James Coupe (change "nospam" to "obeah" to reply by e-mail) You were my strength when I was weak.
