play question

Last night we were playing, and one guy had some Lasombra in his deck including Angelica, the Canonicus. Angelica can only use her special ability to gain intercept once during the current action, correct? How much intercept is she allowed to gain in this manner? Is she a) only permitted to gain intercept to equal the current stealth level of the acting minion, or b) can she gain any amount of intercept she wishes? She gains X intercept, where X is the number of master cards you burn from your hand. X can be any number you choose, up to your current hand size.
