Undead Persistance question

Ricki Van Demsi is in combat, at zero blood, and gets hit for one. I play Undead Persistance, to keep her from torpor, and hit back for one. I then play Taste of Vitae(drawing a Skin of Rock), to give Ricki a blood. I use the press from Undead Persistance, and combat goes another round. If I prevent the damage from the opposing punch with my Skin of Rock, is Ricki still going to torpor, or can she now prevent the damage she took last round with the blood that she has since gained? Or does something else happen?

[ quoted text not captured ] Ricki is not "going to torpor" (card text on Undead Persistence). After combat, Ricki goes to torpor (card text on Undead Persistence). Other effects don't change that (except the possibility of removing Ricki from play - usually by burning - before the end of combat). In any event, damage cannot be retroactively prevented. Also, blood doesn't prevent damage. Vampires use blood to heal damage, but this is not the same as preventing it. Damage cannot be restroactively healed, either. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. See Undead Persistence's card text. He isn't going to torpor but he will go to torpor at the end of the combat ( as LSJ said ) nothing will prevent that short of him leaving play ( typically by being burned )
