I have been thinking about this deck a long time now, so I'll probably use this topic for some questions regarding this deck type. For now, just one question, do you people think that a copy or two of "The Fourth Cycle" is necessery as defense against "Conquest of Humanity"?

Please make new topics for new subjects, they're free! > For now, just one question, do you people think that a copy or two of > "The Fourth Cycle" is necessery as defense against "Conquest of > Humanity"? Absolutely not. I have never seen Conquest of Humanity in play, not even in decks that play 10+ events. Conquest of Humanity Event Gehenna. Do not replace until your next discard phase. Requires at least two other Gehenna cards in play. During each Methuselah's untap phase, he or she may choose a location controlled by his or her prey. The chosen location is burned unless its controller burns 2 pool.

[ quoted text not captured ] Doubtful, given that I'm pretty sure I haven't seen Conquest of Humanity in play since Gehenna was released. If you're really, really worried about CoH, you might be better off splashing some Black Hand tech in with the HoS's and running a Black Hand Ritual or two. But even that seems not worth it. - D.J.

Surprising enough, my playgroup consists of an Imbued player with Gehennas (including CoH) and an occasional weenie deck (different each time) with also CoH and other events.

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] Well, if you know you're likely to see it in your games, then, yes, go ahead and prepare for it.

[ quoted text not captured ] Why is Conquest of Humanity the specific event you're worried about? If locations are so important to your decks that CoH is a recurring problem, perhaps you should build some decks that either don't use them, or can afford to lose them later in the game. You could also try using Insurance Scam to scrape something back if CoH hits the table, though you're really better off just relying less on locations. Jesse

I'd have thought that there were a number of locations important enough to an Imbued deck (Church, Barrens, intercept locations, etc) that CoH wouldn't make the cut - even in a sub-par deck like "WooHooGehennaMadness!" - D.J.

Slaughterhouses. See also: HoS/Salubri deck.... [ quoted text not captured ]

Yeah, it would probably help the discussion along if you either posted the kind of deck you are talking about, or, ya know, at least described what kind of deck you are talking about. Harbingers of Skulls and Salubri as a combo doesn't seem that handy--I mean, yeah, they both have Auspex and Fortitude, but what are you doing with it? > For now, just one question, do you people think that a copy or two of > "The Fourth Cycle" is necessery as defense against "Conquest of > Humanity"? As others have mentioned, Conquest of Humanity is a pretty rarely seen event (I too have never in my life seen it in play), but if it is something you are worried about, The Uncoiling is often very helpful. -Peter

[ quoted text not captured ] Exactly what I was thinking. And thought about when building my Imbued/Gehenna/Table Hate deck best - chris

I don't. What other locations do you think could be of concern? Salubri don't have any. Harbingers only have the Slaughterhouse, Maabara and Crematorium. None of the general locations are so universal that they need to be addressed in a thread titled Hos/Salubri. Maabara and Crematorium aren't critical and have no cost, so letting them go to Conquest of Humanity wouldn't be an issue. Only Slaughterhouses have a cost and are critical to a strategy so that the repayment from CoH would be of concern.

Brum

[ quoted text not captured ] Harbingers = Slaughterhouse, that's why he's afraid. Also, I bet his friend using CoH is also meta. So you have meta and counter-meta meta. Small group of players? About your question. Not to Be is goos because it can kill other events too. Tiago

[ quoted text not captured ] I think more likely to be afraid of is Can`t Take it with You... or perhaps the billion group 4/5 minions that destroy or steal(?) locations Adam

I asked him, which is generally a good way to seek information about other peoples' intent. > Maabara and Crematorium aren't critical and have no cost, so letting > them go to Conquest of Humanity wouldn't be an issue. There's a good chance that the deck in question is fairly wallish, given that Sal and HoS share AUS FOR, so maybe there are media locations or powerbases. Lots of Sal and HoS vampires are big, so maybe there's a Monastary of Shadows. It's reasonable to assume that the OP might have been concerned about Slaughterhouses, but it is still an assumption. Or at least, say, one wouldn't have any idea that the OP might not be proposing a deck in which any other HoS or !Salubri or any no requires location was somehow a key location unless one saw the deck proposed. I've built a deck which featured Crematorium in the past. It turned out not to work, but that's beside the point. THe point is, that was what I was trying to do. Hell, for all we ignornant readers could have known from that post, maybe the guy was forgetting to tell us Mata Hari was part of the deck. Repeat after me: "We can't know a thing unless you TELL us the thing..." Fred
