Several questions were raised by players within my group that I have never come across before. Answers welcome. :) 1. When going a minion is going to torpor from combat, can he/she/it play Cat's Guidance to untap? My take on this is "No". With Freak Drive I can see as it is an Action Modifier for the acting minion's action, but I am unclear to in how to relate this to a reacting vampire going to torpor. 2. In the middle of an Action (say, bleed), can the player use the Barrens or Fragment of the Book of Nod to cycle cards to search for more stealth? If the answer is yes, can this only be done on their turn? or can it be accomplished during another Methuselah's turn? What about using the Book of Nod prior to having someone attempt taking it? 3. Can a player play Misdirection and play 0 blood cost to tap no one? Example would be if all of the prey's minions are already tapped, can the player play the card to cycle the card at no cost? 4. Does Misdirection allow the player to tap any minions not belonging to him/her? i.e. Play to tap all the prey's and grandprey's minions? Thanks Michael Eichler Prince of Ramstein Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Vampires in torpor cannot play reaction cards in general. Acting vampires, even in torpor, are allowed to play action modifiers, however. [RTR 06-MAR-1997] > 2. Sure. > If the answer is yes, can this only be done on their turn? or can it > be accomplished during another Methuselah's turn? Any time, since neither the Barrens nor the Fragment place any restriction on the timing. > What about using the Book of Nod prior to having someone attempt taking > it? Sure. > 3. Yes. X can be 0, in general. > 4. Does Misdirection allow the player to tap any minions not belonging > to him/her? i.e. Play to tap all the prey's and grandprey's minions? Yes. She can even tap minions belonging to her, as well. -- LSJ (vte...@wizards.com) VTES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. However, in your answer here, you imply that Cat's Guidance would not be able to be played until after the combat that resulted from teh successful block - if you could cite the appropriate ruling that would be agreat help also! Subject: Rules Team Rulings - 23 June 1998 Date: Tue, 23 Jun 1998 11:01:50 -0700 Message-ID: <358FED...@wizards.com> Blocking. The last step of a successful block vs. a Ready acting minion is combat. Combat is not delayed until after the block. Thus, Cat's Guidance would be played after the combat, not before. [ quoted text not captured ]
