Eldritch Glimmer Q

Eldritch Glimmer card says: "Strike: 2R damage, and this vampire can burn X blood to get +X damage. Not usable first round. Usable at long range." (At superior it's 4R damage, but the remaining text is the same). Shouldn't it say "Usable ONLY at long range", as it is already clear that it can be used at long by the "R" after the quantity of damage done? How is this strike used, then? The card text says "Usable at long range" but it also says "2R". Because the damage is ranged (2R), the phrase "Usable at long range" is redundant and is a little confusing for him. The main question remains - should the card have instead said "ONLY usable at long range"? Sorrow --- "Are they dead?" - Pugsly "Does it matter?" - Wednesday

No. The "usable at long range" was probably put in to help fend off questions about the +X being ranged or not, even though, as you note, it is redundant with the 'R' nature of the base damage. > How is this strike used, then? If I use EG with Ankara Citadel on my vamp. is the cost reduced for the extra blood burnt to do the extra dmg too? [ quoted text not captured ]

So no, the blood spent is not reduced, as Ankara Citadel only reduces the -cost- of the card, which is 1 blood. The blood cost of EG is 1 blood. The X blood that you can burn as part of the effect is not the cost of the card. [ quoted text not captured ]
