The Anarch expansion is going to add some new rules and I wonder when they go in effect. The on-line rules for example talk about seven Camarilla clans in the base set (including Gangrel), but Gangrel will have their default sect changed to independent. The reason for the question is that there is a need to know for the prerelasetournaments as well as any limited format tournament held within a short time from the release. Sten During

[ quoted text not captured ] The tournament rules state: 4.3. NEW RELEASES New V:TES cards (new expansions, new editions of the basic set, and promotional cards) are allowed in Constructed tournament play beginning 30 days after their retail release date. V:EKN announcements confirm the exact date that each new card set enters tournament play before the set is released. New cards are allowed in Limited tournament play immediately, including before the release date (for example, at a Prerelease tournament). The scheduled release date for Anarchs is May 19, 2003. > > Sten During Kevin M., Prince of Henderson, NV (USA) "Know your enemy, and know yourself; in one-thousand battles you shall never be in peril." -- Sun Tzu, *The Art of War* "Contentment... Let's say I'm running two tournaments may 25. One constructed and one limited. Are Gangrels default sect Camarilla in the constructed tournament and independent in the limited. Is it illegal to merge Jeremy Mc Neil in the constructed but ok in the limited? Sten During

For contructed tournaments, this is 30 days after the official release. > The on-line rules for example talk about seven Camarilla clans > in the base set (including Gangrel), but Gangrel will have their > default sect changed to independent. > > The reason for the question is that there is a need to know for > the prerelasetournaments as well as any limited format tournament > held within a short time from the release. Prerelease tournaments are not sanctioned, so don't have to follow the V:EKN rules for when changes become official. Given the nature of the prerelease tournament, it is clear that the rules for the set being prereleased will apply. Limited formats that use the set will use the rules that come with the set. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
