What happens when an ally is send to torpor? (rotschreck comes to mind) or that antigangrell-ally that can play for instance mummify. And if a card states that only the inferior version can be used, does that mean i cannot use the outferior version? (Is outferior the official name?) Thx, Wouter

>What happens when an ally is send to torpor? (rotschreck comes to >mind) or that antigangrell-ally that can play for instance mummify. Currently, if an ally is sent to torpor, he/she just remains there. There is no current method to rescue an ally from torpor. I think the first mention of this came with the Shadow Court Satyr and Reform Body (and later also Ashes to Ashes). >And if a card states that only the inferior version can be used, does >that mean i cannot use the outferior version? (Is outferior the >official name?) In general, probably yes. Do you mean cards that allow a minion to play cards at inferior? Or cards that prohibit the superior (Fata Amria). In general, a card with an outferior has two effects that require an inferior discipline. Your question is a bit unclear. Do you have an example? Halcyan 2

Rotschreck can only be played on a vampire. When an minion attempts to do aggravated damage on the opposing vampire in torpor, Rotschreck can be played on that opposing vampire. If an ally is sent to torpor, however, he will remain there until he goes somewhere else. There are very few means of moving a vampire from torpor to anywhere other than the ash heap (Kindred Segregation, etc.). If an ally could play fortitude cards "as a vampire", then he could, for example, use Rapid Healing to return to the ready region. > And if a card states that only the inferior version can be used, does > that mean i cannot use the outferior version? What happens if I play Entrancement on an ally in torpor controlled by another? Does that ally end up in my torpor-region or is it ready? Sten During

thx, for the other answer, i just read it in that long thread...sorry for asking > >And if a card states that only the inferior version can be used, does > >that mean i cannot use the outferior version? [ quoted text not captured ] Satyr: "If the card requires a Discipline, he may only use the basic ability of that card as a vampire with a capacity of 1." So for a card that has a [pre] effect, you may play the [pre] effect. If it also has a [dai] effect, you could (instead) use the [dai] effect. It it has a [pre] & [dai] effect, you could not use effect. If it has a [PRE] effect, you could not use that effect. [ quoted text not captured ]

If for example, the ally was attempting an action that required a discipline aren't they now considered *vampiric* until the end of that action? So if they were to be blocked while attempting said action they would retain the inherent benifits/disadvantages of vampness until after combat(6.2.3. Resolve the Action) when the action would end. Correct? It will be amusing to see the first Rock Cat on a Rampage to get blocked and do this. Any others? Magic of the Smith was mentioned somewhere else for Rafastio Ghouls. -Scrote

scrote wrote: > On allies, could an ally play taste of vitae in combat? If for No. Taste of Vitae requires a discipline. Allies don't have disciplines. Explicit card text would be needed to allow an ally to play a card that requires a discipline. > example, the ally was attempting an action that required a discipline > aren't they now considered *vampiric* until the end of that action? So No. The action card he played would treat him as a vampire. He is still an ally, however. Playing the action card doesn't make him a vampire. > if they were to be blocked while attempting said action they would > retain the inherent benifits/disadvantages of vampness until after > combat(6.2.3. Last time I checked, it was a combat card without discipline requirements. (snip) Patrick

[ quoted text not captured ] Sorry - too much Theft on the brain. No discipline requirement, but it does have a "vampire" requirement, so allies still can't use it. [ quoted text not captured ]
