This is a deck I made a while ago, and would like some critisism and advice on it, since I am going to play with it in a tournament in two weeks. Concept: Gangrels playing dominate and bleeding the hell out of my prey with Earth Control used for stelth Crypt (12 vamps): All of these are Gangrels, so I won't bother with the clan 1 Stanislava (11, PRO, FOR, ANI, DOM, CEL, Inner Circle) 2 Ingrid Rossler (9, PRO, FOR, ANI, dom, Prince) 3 Iliana (7, FOR, PRO, DOM, tha) 2 Faruq (8, PRO, ANI, for, dom, pot) 2 Chandler Hungerford (3, PRO) 1 Ricki Van Demsi (3, pro, for) 1 Giulliano Vincenzi (2, for) (Min: 11, Max: 37, Avg: 5.833) Library: (90 cards) Master: (18 cards) 1 Zoo Hunting Grounds 1 Backways 1 Elysium: the Arboretum 2 Archon Investigation 1 Freak Drive 1 Rötschrek 2 Sudden Reversal 2 Golgonda: Inner Peace 1 Elder Library 1 Information Highway 5 Dominate 1 KRCG News Radio 1 Rumor Mill, Tabloid Newspaper Other: (4 cards) 4 Wake With Evening's Freshness 1 Elder Intervention Animalism: (9 cards) 3 Drawing out the Beast 3 Cat's Guidance 3 Rat's Warning Dominate: (18 cards) 3 Govern the Unaligned 3 Scouting Mission 5 Seduction 3 Conditioning 3 Threats 2 Bonding Fortitude: (12 cards) 1 The Kiss of Ra 1 Dawn Operation 4 Skin of Rock 5 Skin of Steel 2 Indominability 2 Unflinching Persistance Protean: (24 cards) 1 Flesh of Marble 3 Form of Mist 4 Earth Control 3 Claws of the Dead 3 Wolf Claws 3 Gleam of Red Eyes 3 Form of Ghost 4 Earth Meld The point is to bleed a _lot_ with stealth, and if someone decides to intercept, send them to torpor or play Form of Mist... Opinions? Tuomas Rinta

But I only say this because it's one of my favourite cards.... > Fortitude: (12 cards) > 1 The Kiss of Ra > 1 Dawn Operation > 4 Skin of Rock > 5 Skin of Steel > 2 Indominability > 2 Unflinching Persistance With all the fortitude you play a 4-disc. deck, why not take most of the fortitude out exept the kiss and slap in more flesh of marble and even a Daring the Dawn or two? > Protean: (24 cards) > 1 Flesh of Marble > 3 Form of Mist > 4 Earth Control You probably need more and also some rapid change as it is a +1 stealth modifier as well as a combat ends. > 3 Claws of the Dead > 3 Wolf Claws > 3 Gleam of Red Eyes > 3 Form of Ghost > 4 Earth Meld > > The point is to bleed a _lot_ with stealth, and if someone decides to > intercept, send them to torpor or play Form of Mist... > Opinions? I find that playing the Form of Mist first, then the stealth or perhaps an Earth Meld works much better than the other way around, as it winds up leaving more of your prey's minions tapped and more of yours untapped. I would try to focus more on PRO w/ FoM and less on DOM. You can use Computer Hacking to go a long way, and prolly cut a few Dominate Masters or some of the older vamps... -davey!

Perhaps more Form of mists would be more useful to your vampires since they have more of that skill. > 3 Conditioning > 3 Threats > 2 Bonding That's more than I would normally play with, but you will be putting your prey in a hurt locker if he doesn't have bounce. That is the real problem that I see with this, you do bleed for a lot, but bounce will kill you (or rather oust your grand prey). I prefer more bleeds at less for each bleed thereby reducing the problems that bounce introduce. > Fortitude: (12 cards) I get 15 cards in this catagory (and 16 if you count the Freak Drive) > 1 The Kiss of Ra A definate in this deck - perhaps 2 would be better > 1 Dawn Operation > 4 Skin of Rock > 5 Skin of Steel > 2 Indominability > 2 Unflinching Persistance Lots of prevent. Perhaps Earth Control and Form of mist can be depended on more heavily to get the bleeds through. > Protean: (24 cards) > 1 Flesh of Marble > 3 Form of Mist > 4 Earth Control > 3 Claws of the Dead > 3 Wolf Claws poke and munch! > 3 Gleam of Red Eyes > 3 Form of Ghost Lots of manuvers for a deck that should have S:CE when a poke in the eye with a sharp claw won't get the job done. > 4 Earth Meld Anyway. a good deck - need to work on the math skills perhaps, but a good solid all around deck. Big and little. How are you going to get +3 vamps out? How is Stanislava going to help you? (appart form +2 bleed) in a tourny expect Archon Investigation. Mabye put in a soul gem, it is a big vamp bleed deck? Caitlin, Zebulon, Gregor Anderson, Lisette Vizquel, Lazveritus +2 hand, Elisabetta Romano, Dylan +1 bleed. >(Min: 11, Max: 37, Avg: 5.833) > >Library: (90 cards) >Master: (18 cards) >1 Zoo Hunting Grounds >1 Backways +1 you can always discard the second. >1 Elysium: the Arboretum -1 with protean >2 Archon Investigation ? 3 pool, there are better ways and you should be Block/Claws/Roth with your master out of turn. >1 Freak Drive >1 Rötschrek +5? you do want their blocked vamps in topor. Rats to untap, and then deflect or block. How are you going to stop a cross table vote deck that is setting you up for a 1-2? How are you going to stop allies. Agg damage doesn't worry them and you cant play DotB to keep them close. How are you going to stop weenie bleed, by the time you get a big vamp you are on 10 pool and next turn you have to stop 4 bleeders. Could also play: Dylan, Lizette... Well, anybody wanna trade those to me? The problem that me and my friends have, is the lack of certain cards from our playgroup. One of these is most Sabbat vampires...The vampires that are in the crypt are there due to lack of any better vampires... > > The point is to bleed a _lot_ with stealth, and if someone decides to > > intercept, send them to torpor or play Form of Mist... Wow. Never actually thought of that. Thanks. I wonder why that never came to me... I > would try to focus more on PRO w/ FoM and less on DOM. You can use > Computer Hacking to go a long way, and prolly cut a few Dominate Masters > or some of the older vamps... Well, the point is to bleed a _lot_, the problem with computer hacking is the amount of bleed. A friend of mine plays a Nosferatu/stealth/computer hacking deck, and to bluntly put it, it sucks... Also, the fact that I don't have any more FoM:s in my deck, is the fact that I do not own any more of them... And, yes, I know that Freak Drive is not a master card, I screwed up...=) Tuomas Rinta

The crypt consists of Katarina, Ingrid, Stanislava, Gitane and a few other Gangrel. Dawn ops X6 Drawing out the beast X6 Form of mist X3 Earth meld X6 Bums rush X2 Ambush X2 Computer hacking X4 Laptop X2 Bonespur X3 Flesh of marble X3 Minion tap and fifth tradition X4 each and some other stuff like prevention and other tricks... I managed to torporize 3 vampires with one bum's rush with the old dawn op, drawing out the beast, form of mist combo. Needless to say this deck would get murdered by weenie deck and the few deflections would not last long against a snne bleed deck but it is fun and if somebody immortal grapples you then you just let em have it with the old scorpion sting/bone spur combo.... Any ideas to the above address Regards,

That would be difficult, since Dawn Op only "works" for combats resulting from blocks, and you can only play superior Form of Mist once per action (since it counts as an action modifier when used by an acting vampire). So, if you were blocked a second time (after ending the first combat with FoM), the damage would be agg but you would only be able to dodge with FoM - you couldn't continue on to a third combat. (And if the Rush isn't blocked, the damage won't be agg.) -- LSJ (vte...@wizards.com) V:TES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. I have had one of these decks for a long time. It's quite effective. I have won a couple of tournaments with it. >Crypt (12 vamps): All of these are Gangrels, so I won't bother with the >clan >1 Stanislava (11, PRO, FOR, ANI, DOM, CEL, Inner Circle) >2 Ingrid Rossler (9, PRO, FOR, ANI, dom, Prince) >3 Iliana (7, FOR, PRO, DOM, tha) >2 Faruq (8, PRO, ANI, for, dom, pot) >2 Chandler Hungerford (3, PRO) >1 Ricki Van Demsi (3, pro, for) >1 Giulliano Vincenzi (2, for) Replace an Illiana and Faruq with Catlins. This gives you a couple more smaller vamps. >(Min: 11, Max: 37, Avg: 5.833) > >Library: (90 cards) >Master: (18 cards) >1 Zoo Hunting Grounds >1 Backways >1 Elysium: the Arboretum >2 Archon Investigation >1 Freak Drive >1 Rötschrek >2 Sudden Reversal >2 Golgonda: Inner Peace >1 Elder Library >1 Information Highway >5 Dominate >1 KRCG News Radio >1 Rumor Mill, Tabloid Newspaper I would loose the Golconda's and Elder library. They probably won't be very useful in this deck. You also need to decide on whether your going to intercept or not. If so you can keep the KRCG and tabloid paper but you should add more cats. It probably best to lose them if you are not going to commit more to intercept. >Other: (4 cards) >4 Wake With Evening's Freshness >1 Elder Intervention > >Animalism: (9 cards) >3 Drawing out the Beast >3 Cat's Guidance >3 Rat's Warning If you want to incerpt loose the onther animalism cards and put in more cats. If not loose them all and commit the space to stealth or wakes. >Dominate: (18 cards) >3 Govern the Unaligned >3 Scouting Mission >5 Seduction >3 Conditioning >3 Threats >2 Bonding In my experience more stealth, bleed, or bounce is far better than Seduction. I would add some more bleed cards or even better deflections. You are using dominate after all... >Fortitude: (12 cards) >1 The Kiss of Ra >1 Dawn Operation >4 Skin of Rock >5 Skin of Steel >2 Indominability >2 Unflinching Persistance >Protean: (24 cards) >1 Flesh of Marble >3 Form of Mist >4 Earth Control >3 Claws of the Dead >3 Wolf Claws >3 Gleam of Red Eyes >3 Form of Ghost >4 Earth Meld I would cut down the combat. Less fortitude. You can use Form of the Mist or Rapid Change to end combat. Keep some Skin of Steel to deal with Immortal grapple and Thoughts betrayed. Forget the Dawn Op unless you put in enough to use that type of strategy. Loose the Wolf claws and replace them with Claws of the Dead. This allows for manuevers so you can replace most of the protean manuever cards. You need Rapid Change (for more stealth and end combat), more Form of the Mist and more earth control if you hope to successfully stealth bleed. I have about 7 of each in my deck but my game environment has lots of intercept. >The point is to bleed a _lot_ with stealth, and if someone decides to >intercept, send them to torpor or play Form of Mist... >Opinions? You need much more stealth. Combat is good, but for this type of deck to be successful you will have to concentrate on bleed and stealth. Keep a few claws and other combat to surprise blockers but you should try not to be blocked. If you end up with lots of combat in the game you can also use the Form of the Mist and Rapid Change to end combat if you need. Steve Bucy >Tuomas Rinta
