Have a few question about the Blood to Water Card The card reads : Only usuable at close range, before strike resolution. Not usuable during the first round of combat (thau) If the opposing minion is an ally, he or she is burned, otherwise the opposing vampire burns 3 blood. (THAU) Opposing vampire burns five blood Three questions 1) Does this occur even is the opposion minions does a S:CE, since I know S:CE is the first thing to resolve, but this card says is resolves before strike resolution 2) When do you play this card? 3) Is this card a strike or can you then follow it up with a hand strike or strike card. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sean Milligan

>1) Does this occur even is the opposion minions does a S:CE, since I know >S:CE is the first thing to resolve, but this card says is resolves before >strike resolution Yes. As you note, this effect occurs before any strikes are resolved (including S:CE) and it takes effect immediately upon playing it. S:CE resolves before any other non-S:CE strike and any other effects that occur during strike resolution but as you point out, Blood to Water happens before all this. >2) When do you play this card? Assuming it's not the first round of combat: Any time after range is determined to be close but before strikes are actually resolved. So before the acting minion chooses their strike. Or before the reacting (or non-acting) minion chooses their strike. Or after both of the minions have chosen their strikes but before the strikes have been resolved. These are some of the more common times when you may decide to play a Blood to Water. >3) Is this card a strike or can you then follow it up with a hand strike or >strike card. It is not a strike. (Just like how Thin Blood, which mimicks Blood to Water is not a strike either). You can play Blood to Water and then choose your strike (or vice versa). Halcyan 2

You can actually burn 5 blood of a vampire, then dodge his strike ;) Useful combo against potence decks AND since it's not a strike deck, it's not hindered by immortal grapple's ...

Well, yes, but you would still have inflicted 5 damage, as opposed to 1 damage ... -- http://vtes.sentientbeings.com - V:TES Collection and Deck builder http://www.finalfantasygoodies.nl - Final Fantasy Collectibles.

Actually you have burned 5 blood and inflicted 1 damage (handstrike) = 6, if the opposing vamp had at least 5 blood left. Just to be picky [TM] [ quoted text not captured ]
